Woman held with drugs worth Rs 11.6 lakh at Mandrem

A woman hailing from Darjeeling in West Bengal but residing at Candolim has been held on charges of possessing drugs worth Rs 11.6 lakh at Mandrem.

According to Mandrem police, the incident took place between 2.30 pm and 4.15 pm on Thursday, when a police team led by LPSI Archana Sharma along with two Panchas conducted a narcotic raid and caught Parvati Roy (29) in possession of 11.6 kgs of greenish colour leafy substance, having fruiting and flowering tops suspected to be Ganja valued at about 11.6 lakh.

Mandrem police has registered a case under the NDPS Act and PSI Pratik Garudi is investigating the case.
