World Malaria Day was observed on Monday with a function organised by the National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme Directorate of Health Services (DHS), Panaji, at Institute Menezes Braganza in Panaji. Chief Guest on the occasion, Dr Rufino Monteiro, President of Indian Medical Association, spoke on the theme - "Harness innovation to reduce the Malaria disease burden and save lives". Present on the occasion were Director of DHS, Dr Geeta Kakodkar; Deputy Director of DHS, Dr Vandana Dhume; CMO, Dr Rupa Naik among others. Prize winners of the online poster competition on Malaria eradication were felicitated. Health field workers, sanitary inspectors, were also felicitated for their outstanding and dedicated work.
