MARGAO: Zico Boys Verna defeated Dragon Boys Borda 2-1 to move to the quarter-finals of the 17th All Goa Rebello Pandal football tournament, organised by Rebello Pandal Maina, at St Rita Church ground, Maina, on Monday.
Both teams played attacking soccer as Zico Boys scored in 15th and 26th minutes through Pravin and Abbey respectively before half time.
Changing over, Dragon Boys Borda pulled a goal back through Ranjil in the 36th minute. Zico Boys Verna didn't gave much chance to Dragon Boys' Velton and Kevin who tried to find equaliser but all efforts went in vain and the match ended in favour of Verna.
Ranjil of Dragon Boys Borda was awarded man of the match by club member Rosario Fernandes.
