The third lecture series under the V M Salgaocar Chair of Wildlife Studies, Goa University will be held on January 23 and 24 at the seminar hall, Directorate Block, Goa University. The lecture series showcases the work of eminent personalities for their outstanding work in wildlife and conservation and is conducted under the Visiting Research Professors Programme of Goa University and is open to university students and general public. This lecture series entitled ‘Call of The Wild’ features four eminent persons from the field wildlife and conservation “ Dr Chelmala Srinivasulu (Osmania University, Telangana), Dr K V Gururaja (Shrishti Manipal Institute of Art, Design and Technology, Bengaluru), Dr Bivash Pandav (Wildlife Institute of India, Uttarakhand) and Shirish Manchi (Salim Ali Centre for Ornithology and Natural History). The first lecture of the series will be delivered by Dr Chelmala Srinivasulu on ‘Bats of South Asia: Status and Conservation’ at 2“ 3.30 pm on January 23. The next lecture on January 23 will be on ‘Amphibians, Acoustics and Anthropogenic Climate Change’ by Dr K V Gururaja at 3.45 “ 5 pm. On day two, January 24, a lecture on ‘Elephants in a Changing World’ by Dr Bivash Pandav will be held at 2“ 3.30 pm. The concluding lecture will be by Shirish Manchi on ‘The Wilderness Underneath’ at 3.45“ 5 pm on January 24.
