The Association of Senior Citizens of Taleigao organized “Seniors Have Talent” contest recently at the St Michael’s Community Centre, Taleigao.
At the well-attended programme, the contests were held in singing, instrumental music, and poetry recitation. Maria Lourdes Fernandes, Antonio Barreto and Jasmina Pereira were declared winners in the singing competition. In the instrumental music competition, Remedios Simão Dias with a personally contrived instrument, Linda Diniz Braganza on the keyboard and João Pedro Viegas on the harmonica emerged winners. In poetry recitation, Willy Goes, Celso Fernandes, and Mavis Viegas won the prizes.
The singing and instrumental music were judged by Cezar D’Mello, Claudia Vaz and Vinita Fernandes, while the poetry recitation was evaluated by Dr Glenis Mendonca, Menino Araujo and Dr Alvarinho Luis. Fr Cipriano da Silva, parish priest, opened the event with a prayer, while Vice-President of the association, Eurico Noronha proposed the vote of thanks.
