Vikram Publications, Porvorim, will release a new book ‘Tales of Socorro’ by Edward de Lima at Singbal Book House, opposite Panaji Church, on November 4 at 11 am.
Professor Edgar Ribeiro, former chief planner, Government of India and architect, will be the chief guest while the guests of honour are Dr Meenacshi Martins, psychiatrist and actor and Sanjeev Sardesai, heritage promoter.
‘Tales of Socorro’ is a collection of 20 short stories of people who lived in Socorro some 50 or 60 years ago, as related by the author. The book is edited by Dr Ashok K Joshi, former professor and Head, Department of English, Goa University.
The author and publishers are unable to invite friends and well-wishers on account of the pandemic restrictions.
The book will be available at Singbal Book House and Pauline Media Centre (Panaji) and Golden Heart Emporium and the Lighthouse (Margão), states a press note.
