PANAJI: Former ex-RSS Goa Chief Subhash Velingkar said he is cooperating with the investigation as he appeared before the Bicholim police for the second day in a row today. Velingkar is being investigated for allegedly hurting religious sentiments with his comments about the relics of St Francis Xavier, the patron saint of Goa.
“I met the investigating officer and provided all the information he requested. I am cooperating with the police,” he said while exiting the police station after the interrogation.
Velingkar's anticipatory bail petition is currently pending before the Bombay High Court at Goa, that has scheduled the next hearing on Tuesday.
Velingkar had yesterday assured the High Court to appear for questioning provided the police do not arrest him.
The Hindu leader thereafter visited the PS after 4 pm where he spent around 15-20 minutes.
