Even as political parties BJP and Goa Forward are under fire over the structure within heritage precincts of St Cajetan Church, the complicity of the Congress too has come to the fore with its member Glen Cabral informing that the Cumbarjua block president Vishal Volvoikar seconded the resolution for granting licence to the structure.When questioned over the same, Old Goa local Glen Cabral informed that Volvoikar, who was a panch then, failed to inform about the structure coming up at the site.
“In fact, Volvoikar had seconded the resolution to issue license for the structure. Being a local panch, it should have been his duty to inform the locals about the structure but he failed to do so,” Cabral stated.
When questioned whether Congress, whose leaders are also participating in protests, should take cognizance of the issue, Cabral agreed that the party has to take action.
The Goan made several attempts to contact Volvoikar to have his say in the matter but without success.
