CANACONA
Two men from Canacona were among three persons arrested by Karwar police on charges of possessing ganja at the Karwar railway station two days ago.
According to reports, police arrested three persons at the Shirwad-Karwar railway station, after they were found in possession with 1 kg of ganja.
While one accused, Kishen Bandekar is a local of Shirwad-Karwar, the two others, Gangesh Fatarpekar and Gohil Bhaireli, are from Canacona.
Besides seizing the Ganja, police also confiscated three mobile phones belonging to the three accused.
Sources said incidents of drugs trafficking has increased in Karwar district of Karnataka, with police making at least one arrest every fortnight.
“Police are keeping a close watch on drug traffickers in the district,” said a source.
