In a bid to implement the amended Goa Registration of Tourism Trade Act, the Tourism department through a public notice has directed tourist services such as adventure sports, spice plantation and online service providers to register their services at the earliest.
Through an amendment, these three services have been recently added to the Goa Registration of Tourism Trade Act. The new rules are enforced from April 1 this year.
As per tourism data, around 3,766 hotels and guest houses have been registered with the tourism department and only MakeMy trip and Ibibo group have registered as online service providers.
The department has directed the promoters of adventure sports, spice plantation and online service providers in the State to register their services with the department at the earliest, failing which action deemed fit will be initiated for violation.
Other activities like travel agent, tour operator, motor boat, launch, water sports operators, dealer in handicraft, tourist guide, photographer, government shacks, private shacks and private huts, deck beds and umbrellas have also been registered under this Act.
