Six Indian tourists were rescued in three separate incidents, while two children from Bengaluru were stung by jellyfish at Palolem.
According to Drishti reports, three men from Maharashtra went kayaking at Palolem and as they kayaked further, they attempted to hold each other’s hands in order to balance but fell into the water and struggled to stay afloat.
Drishti lifesaver Parshuram Pagi spotted the victims in distress and immediately rushed to help them on a jetski.
He single-handedly secured all three victims on the jetski and brought them to safety. The victims were assessed for injuries and let go with safety precautions.
In another incident, a 34-year-old man from Bhopal went kayaking and in the middle of the sea, he lost his balance and fell overboard.
Drishti lifesaver Ankush Vagaonkar who was on duty, rushed a rescue call and Drishti lifesaver Laxmikant Sagekar launched a jetski and secured the tourist, bringing him ashore.
In the third incident, two youth from Solapur went kayaking at Palolem. As the kayak overturned, they fell into the water and began struggling for help.
Drishti lifesaver Laxmikant Sagekar noticed the two in distress and rushed towards them on a jetski. He secured each of them on the jetski and brought them ashore.
In another incident, a 13-year-old boy and a 15-year-old girl from Bengaluru were taking a dip into the sea.
As they were swimming, they got stung by a jellyfish in the sea and started gesturing for help. Drishti lifesaver Ankush Vagonkar spotted the two kids and informed the lifesavers’ tower. Drishti lifesaver Laxmikant Sagekar rushed to the victims and secured them on the jetski, bringing them to safety. The necessary medical aid was administered on the kids and further help was provided.
Maha youth rescued at Candolim beach

A youth from Maharashtra was rescued at Candolim beach on Monday evening.
According to Drishti reports, the incident took place at about 4.10 pm as the 21-year old man from Maharashtra entered into the red-flagged no-swim zone.
Experiencing a sudden change in the water levels, the victim found himself in danger. As he attempted to return to shore, he was unable to swim and called out for help. Drishti lifesaver Sushant Gaonkar rushed to his aid and secured him with a rescue tube. The victim was brought back safely and a medical check-up was conducted where he was found to be out of danger.
