The 60th anniversary of Goa’s Liberation Day was marked with many firsts, and one of the most interesting features of the celebration is the 3D mapping presentation at Azad Maidan in Panaji, exhibiting the freedom struggle, battle and then the final victory and liberation from the Portuguese. The five-minute show, which is the first ever concept of its kind in Goa, is the creation of a TYBA student Chelsea Vaz who is currently learning animation and graphics at Parvatibai Chowgule College, Margao.

Speaking to The Goan on her creative work, Chelsea briefed that she had only one week to work on this 3D mapping and that she stitched together the content links provided by the arts director, adding ideas from her father Amrose Vaz to create this much appreciated 3D show at Azad Maidan, viewed by many, including the President of India Ram Nath Kovind.

“I used three projectors from three sides to give a 3D mapping effect to the presentation. It is for the first time that I used the concept on a structure, though I have earlier done it for wedding cake mapping,” says Chelsea who admits that she learnt the skill all by herself.
