AAP flays Sawant's statement on resolving land issues in 8 months

PANAJI
Aam Aadmi Party has strongly criticized Chief Minister Pramod Sawant’s statement on resolving land issues within 8 months.

“Sawant cannot do this. What is the roadmap? BJP has not done this for so many years and they don’t have intentions to do it. Late Manohar Parrikar had amended Tenancy Act and cases were transferred from the Mamlatdar courts and Deputy Collector courts to Trial and District courts, and many cases were decided against Tenants because of this, Parrikar had to take back this amendment due to public outrage and because of this, cases were kept pending for shifting from this court to that for almost 4-5 years,” said Tilve, reminding CM Sawant how his government was up for grabbing Melaulim land in the name of IIT, he said

“We have seen how the government used its tactics to grab Melaulim land in the name of IIT project, Goans know what is their right, now they are fighting for it. CM Sawant must stop fooling us,” said Tilve.

Land right issues are the biggest problem of Goa. BJP and Congress have failed to resolve this issue, both the parties have betrayed the people of Goa.

“If CM Sawant was so concerned about land rights, he should not have directed his police to arrest peaceful Mopa protesters,” said Tilve.

As far as AAP’s stand is concerned we firmly believe that land rights should be given to the Goans and we stand united with the demand of Goans to end this long pending issue. It is the right of Goans to own their lands, he added.
