The number of active Covid cases in the jurisdiction of Margao Urban Health Centre has breached the 1000-mark on Thursday.
In fact, Covid cases at the Margao Urban Health Centre has witnessed a single day spike of 136 cases, perhaps the highest cases on a single day reported in the city during the second wave of Covid pandemic.
While the cases reported at the Margao UHC stood at 998 on Wednesday, the figure touched a whopping 1,134 on Friday, a spike of 136 cases.
Compared to the rest of Salcete, Covid cases have been rising more in the Margao UHC jurisdiction, even though other primary health centres such as Balli, Loutolim Curtorim, Navelim and Chinchinim have also witnessed a spike in cases in the second wave.
