The Directorate of Higher Education (DHE) has announced that the admissions for the Bachelor of Education Programme (BEd) for the year 2025-26 will commence on April 25.
The online admission process will continue till May 5.
A candidate should have passed a Bachelor/Postgraduate Degree Examination of Goa University or an equivalent degree from any other statutory University recognised as equivalent thereto, with a minimum of 50 per cent marks (5% relaxation is given to candidates from the SC/ST/OBC categories) and/or in the Master’s Degree in Sciences/Social Sciences/Humanity/Commerce, Bachelor’s in Engineering or Technology with specialization in Science and Mathematics with 55% marks or any other.
The State government has already discontinued the two-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D El Ed) course, which trains teachers for primary education, from the current academic year 2025-26 onwards.
The change is in accordance with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 which supports new integrated teacher education programmes.
