After assuming office as Environment Minister last year, the first decision Aleixo Sequeira took in the SGPDA market was to fix an inspection of the bio-methanation plant operated by the Margao Municipal Council following complaints from residents of Fatorda that the plant is contaminating the water bodies.
The bio-methanation plant is now shut down after the GSPCB issued directions to the MMC to discontinue the operation from August this year.
