PANAJI

In a new political development, BJP's National executive member of Yuva Morcha Gajanan Tilve on Sunday joined Congress Party. Tilve is a resident of Anjuna which comes under Siolim constituency.

Tilve now has been openly supporting Delilah Lobo, wife of Ports Minister Michael Lobo in siolim constituency in her campaigns for the last few days. There are rumours that the Lobo couple are likely to join congress.

Tilve said that development in the Siolim constituency has suffered during the BJP regime and he expressed confidence that congress will improve the development of his constituency.

Tilve who gives credit to Manohar Parrikar for bringing him in politics said that BJP is only interested in power.  BJP has kept aside principles and only tried to gain power by any means, he said.

Tilve joined the congress at a function at Congress House where Goa In-Charge Dinesh Gundu Rao, Leader of Opposition Digamabar Kamat,  Youth Congress President Varad Mardolkar were present.

Many other youths from BJP along with Gajanan Tilve joined Congress.

While criticising policies of BJP leadership in the state, Tilve expressed confidence that the party he has joined will get majority seats to form government.

Congress Goa In-Charge Dinesh Gundu Rao welcomed Tilve in the party stating that his entry will strengthen the party.   "I feel happy that young leaders with commitment and knowledge of politics are joining Congress.” he said.

He said that as BJP is indulging in job scams and it has failed to resolve employment issues and due to this youths are frustrated with BJP.

"When BJP ministers and MLAs are levelling charges against the government, why is there no serious enquiry?," asked Rao.

Opposition leader Digamabar Kamat said that as BJP stands exposed youths are getting attracted towards Congress.

Varad Mardolkar congratulated Tilve for joining Congress despite BJP government at the Centre. Mardolkar said that leaders like Tilve get frustrated in BJP that is looking at 'family raj' in youth organisations.
