An abandoned four-wheeler parked along the border between Arambol and Mandrem was gutted in a fire on Monday morning.
The incident took place at about 9.30 am when locals noticed the car in flames. Locals claimed the vehicle had met with an accident some days ago and was lying by the roadside for the past many days.
The fire station was alerted but before a fire tender could reach the site, the car was destroyed in the fire. Since the number plate was also destroyed in the fire, the owner of the car could not be traced. The cause of the fire is not known and investigations are underway.
