In an interesting development, a scooter stolen from Khareband-Margao was traced in Karnataka, where it was found abandoned within the jurisdiction of Ashok Nagar Police Station.
Complainant Anant Falari, a resident of Calconda-Margao, lodged a complaint stating that unknown persons had stolen his Bajaj scooter, worth Rs 1 lakh, which was parked in an open parking area near Naaz Hotel, Khareband, Margao.
During the investigation, Margao police promptly alerted their counterparts in the neighbouring State about the stolen scooter. Following inter-State coordination and concerted efforts by the police authorities, the scooter was traced within the jurisdiction of Ashok Nagar Police Station in Karnataka, where it was found abandoned.
Necessary coordination is being undertaken with Ashok Nagar Police Station, Karnataka, for further legal formalities and to take custody of the recovered vehicle.
