The Directorate of Health Services on Tuesday recorded 39 Covid deaths and 1,549 new cases of the infection.
The daily positivity rate fell to 30.70 per cent even as 5,044 samples were tested in the last 24 hours. The active cases of Covid-19 have reduced to 15,706.
With the addition of these 39 deaths, the State’s Covid victim count has risen to 2,460.
Eight of those who succumbed to the disease were below 50 years of age. While five were brought dead at various hospitals, two passed away within 24 hours of being admitted. Four had received their first dose of the Covid vaccine.
Of the 39 deaths, 19 occurred at GMC, 11 at South Goa District Hospital, one each was brought dead at ESI Covid Hospital, SGDH, Primary Health Center Quepem, PHC Colvale and Hospicio and one death each was recorded at RG Stone Hospital, Galaxy Hospital, Victor Hospital, Aster Hospital and Trimurti General Hospital.
