The Crescendo Children's Choir, under the direction of the renowned choirmaster and voice coach, Raj D'Pietro Fernandes, will present an evening of music at the basketball court of St Xavier's Campus, Mapusa, on November 18 at 6 pm.
This year marks the third year that the choir is putting up a concert, which has been visualised by Fr Ramiro Luis. The choir will be accompanied by musicians who are friends and teachers connected to the Crescendo Community Centre for Music.
Schubert Cota, a distinguished musicologist, will be the chief guest for the evening and the theme for the concert, ‘Ãqui Estoy’, sets the stage for a performance rich in cultural resonance and emotional depth.
The nature of the music presented will focus on Catholic Hymns, which will provide listeners with an engaging and spiritually energising experience. The genres ranging from Gregorian chant to pop style and even rock will be presented in Latin, Spanish, Hindi, Konkani and English.
The Crescendo Children’s Choir, comprising 85 singers and seven musicians led by its choirmaster, director, will create a soul-stirring ambience through the ageless beauty of Catholic Hymns.
