Aiming to make the administration responsive to the people's needs by providing them the benefit of each and every scheme and other basic amenities, the State Government under the leadership of Chief Minister, Pramod Sawant has embarked upon a mission with the launch of its Outreach Programme called Government At Your Doorstep.
The programme “Sarkar Tumchya Daari” aimed at resolving the grievances of the people with the deployment of Government machinery has so far held at Colvale Mapusa , Bicholim, Pernem and Sanquelim in North Goa and Canacona ,Cuncolim and Zuvari Nagar in South Goa. All the talukas will be covered under this programme in the coming days.
The programme Government at Your Doorstep facilitates the people from the jurisdiction of Panchayat and Municipal areas to assemble at the venue of programmes wherever they are held amid the presence of Chief Minister, Cabinet Ministers, MLA’s and representatives of local self Governing bodies including Zilla Panchayat to put forth their problems before the Chief Minister and Government Authorities.
Sawant under whose initiative the series of such programmes are planned reaffirms Government's commitment to make Goa Swayampurna in all areas. Such programmes assumes significance to offer prompt solutions to the problems faced by the people be it roads, water supply, electricity among other basic amenities. Though it will not be possible to redress cent percent problems through Sarkar Tumchya Daari, this initiative would definitely help to solve 50 percent of the problems, the Chief Minister exudes confidence and seeks cooperation of the people to make Goa Swayampurna in the Diamond Jubilee Year of its liberation.
Notwithstanding with the fact that when there was a rapid surge in Covid-19 cases in the State in the wake of second wave of Covid-19 Pandemic Sawant who assumed charge of office after the demise of his mentor former Chief Minister of Goa, late Manohar Parrikar made strenuous efforts to revamp the administration, deliver good Governance and make Goa Self reliant in pursuance to the Atmanirbhar Bharat Campaign of the Central Government.
People visit Government offices to get their work done, but sometimes despite making frequent visits their problems remain unattended or unresolved and therefore it is high time to commend the efforts of the Government for its outreach programme.
The endeavour of this Government will significantly help to accomplish the objective of Swayampurna Goa through the concept of Government services at your doorstep and to accelerate the pace of developmental projects at every Panchayat and Municipality level.
