Huge response to Rozgar Yatra at Canacona

Huge response to Rozgar Yatra at Canacona

PANAJI

The Aam Aadmi Party ‘Rozgar Yatra’ drew huge crowds at Canacona. The Yatra which has been crisscrossing the state was in Canacona yesterday and was attended by hundreds of volunteers followed by large booth level meetings. Many residents registered for Kejriwal's Job Guarantee.

Canacona has faced a lot of problems in the recent past. Common Goenkars are not getting employed. The sitting MLA switched from Congress to BJP promising development but he has developed only his pocket. Canacona is highly dependent on tourism which has been adversely affected by the pandemic and lockdown. Families dependent on the industry have been facing a huge crunch and have not been make ends meet.

Many Goenkars want to know more about the Kejriwal model of Employment as they are already impressed by the Kejriwal model of electricity, school and healthcare amongst other things.  Goan youth are tired of being cheated of jobs and are excited that AAP will bring transparency to the recruitment process.

Arvind Kejriwal on his visit to Goa last month had announced his guarantee of providing employment to every youth when the Aam Aadmi Party government is formed in the state. He had promised that every youth will be given employment and Rs 3,000 per month till the employment is provided. Kejriwal announced that 80 percent of jobs in the private sector will be reserved for the youth of Goa. Rs 5,000 would be provided monthly to families who lost employment due to shutdown of tourism and mining.

"‘The present MLA has not supported the people of Canacona. The residents of Canacona are excited that  Rs 5,000 would be provided monthly to families who lost employment due to the shutdown of tourism and mining’ as so far only AAP has provided a plan for supporting them , said Anup Kudtarkar, AAP Canacona Assembly Incharge.
