Former Saligao MLA and State BJP Secretary Jayesh Salgaonkar may have been seated on the dais during the inauguration of the Reis Magos Panchayat Ghar, but he was reportedly snubbed at the event.
Salgaonkar was not even invited to deliver a speech and moreover, speakers did not make any mention about Salgaonkar’s contribution towards the village when he served as its MLA.
Despite residing in Reis Magos, Salgaonkar was not also felicitated along with some citizens for their contribution towards the development of the village.
Later when contacted, a visibly unhappy Salgaonkar said the Panchayat Ghar project was conceived and tendered during his tenure as RDA minister.
“However, credit for this project is being taken by somebody else. I had attended the function as RDA Minister Govind Gaude had requested me to grace the occasion and had invited me sit on the dais,” said Salgaonkar.
