The Mapusa police have apprehended four juveniles for allegedly stealing a laptop worth Rs 90,000 approx. These delinquents, as per the police, have been remanded to Apna Ghar.Sub Divisional Police Officer (Mapusa) Jivba Dalvi informed that a Ukrainian national had complained that unknown persons stole his laptop and Rs 500 cash while he met with a minor accident on June 27.
The officer informed that a First Information Report was registered and the Mapusa police team visited the spot for investigation.
"Through technical and human surveillance, the team collected intelligence to narrow down on four suspects. During the investigation, we found that the accused on the pretext of helping the complainant, who had fallen on the road for medical attention, diverted his attention and took away the valuables,” Dalvi said.
They were intercepted from different locations and brought to the Police Station. Their confession led to the recovery of the stolen properties.
“All the boys were found to be below 18 years of age as such they were produced before the Juvenile Justice Board in Merces and remanded at Apna Ghar. Further investigation is in progress,” he said.
