Cong-turned-BJP Margao MLA Digambar Kamat has again publicly red flagged demands to place the Master plan before the people of Margao and Fatorda, asserting the plan will not remain a Master plan, but will turn out something different if the plan is showed to the people.
Asserting he has no role in the preparation of the Master plan, Kamat said the master plan for Margao and other towns has been prepared by a prominent consultant Studio Pod, because of the initiative and vision of Urban Development Minister Vishwajit Rane.
“Some people have said I have done the master plan for Margao. But, let me tell you, I am zero in preparing master plans. It is Urban Development Minister Vishwajit Rane, who has roped in a prominent consultant to prepare the plan for Margao and three other towns. Some have raised objections to the plan, but these people don’t want anything good to happen”, he said, while speaking at the Ana Fonte garden beautification programme on Sunday in the presence of Minister Vishwajit Rane.
Complimenting Rane for taking a good decision to prepare the Master plan for Margao, Kamat said the Minister has shown the plan not only to the Margao Municipal Councilors, but city experts such as architects, businessmen, engineers ect through an interactive session. But, there are people who want the plan to be shown to the public. If the plan is shown to the people, it will not remain a master plan but something else. I congratulate the Urban Development Minister for his initiative to prepare the master plan”, Kamat said, while complimenting Rane for his initiative to rope in an expert to prepare a traffic management plan for Goa.
