The Nachinola panchayat on Monday passed a resolution demanding a re-enquiry into the death of a teenaged resident, who was found dead in a suspicious manner in Calangute.
The resolution was passed during the fortnightly meeting of the panchayat, chaired by Sarpanch Trupti Bandodkar and attended by Deputy Sarpanch Freddie Fernandes, panchas Rina Govekar, Govind Govekar and Satish Govekar.
The resolution was proposed by Panch Satish Govekar and was passed unopposed. The resolution states that it is impossible to conclude the death as a case of suicide considering the manner in which her body was found.
"The family of victim deserves justice. Hence, we have request the chief minister to conduct a re-enquiry into this case," said Sarpanch Bandodkar.
