PANAJI
As Goans gear up to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi in a pandemic stricken State, most want to restrict the festivity for a day-and-a-half and observe it within their own family circles. At a time when crowd gathering is not a norm, even in a festival, the focus on celebrating an eco-friendly festival, which is restricted to few close relatives, is what the people are looking at.
Dhairyansh Green, an eco-friendly store in Panaji is offering eco-friendly Ganesh idols this year in two designs. “The idols are 100 percent natural, made of clay by Goan artisan Sanjay Sawant from Parye, North Goa. They can be easily dissolved in a bucket of water if kept overnight and the water can be used to water the plants in the garden,” claims Vaishali Chauhan, founder of the store.
The idols are of 7”/18 cm in height and the price of each idol is Rs 700.
The last date to place an order is August 25 at https://tiny.cc/DhartiEcoGanesha. The idols will be available at the store too for walk-in customers and home delivery option is also available, added Chauhan.
The store, committed to offer only natural, eco-friendly, bio-degradable and chemical-free products, has bamboo toothbrushes, bamboo tongue cleaners, bamboo combs, earbuds, bottle cleaning brushes, handmade soaps, bagasse cups, cotton carry bags, reusable baby diapers and sanitary napkins, sustainable menstrual products, toilet cleaners with natural ingredients and organic colours to play Holi. The products are either package free or available in biodegradable packaging.
