Calangute Police arrested a 23-year-old youth on charges of sexually assaulting a woman in a hotel in Candolim.
The accused, Swaroop Gora, presently residing at Old Goa but a native of Rajasthan has been sent to seven days of police custody.
According to police, the victim along with her friends had gone to a hotel in Candolim last Sunday.
The accused allegedly raped the victim on the intervening night of Sunday and Monday, police said.
A case of rape under section 376 of the IPC has been registered against the accused. Further investigation is on.
