Letting a pet dog loose could lend you in trouble and even a police case.
Calangute Police has registered an offence against one Ramdas Palkar and his minor son after their pet dog bit a woman in the coastal village.
The incident took place at around noon on Tuesday at Naikavaddo, Calangute when the victim Ms Aynish Fernandes (29) had stepped out of her residence to dump waste in the compound.
At the same time, the pet dog owner’s son had stepped out of his residence with the pet dog, a Rottweiler.
As Fernandes was moving ahead to dump her waste, the pet dog attacked her violently, snapping at her hand and leaving a deep gash.
In her statement to the police, Fernandes said that her neighbours rushed to her aid and shifted her to Candolim primary health centre from where she was referred to the North Goa District Hospital.
In her complaint, she further said that she received stitches inside and outside the wound as the dog had created a deep gash with the bite.
Calangute Police has registered a case for negligence against Ramdas Palkar under section 289 and r/w 34 of the IPC.
