Chicalim Dy Sarpanch Aishwarya Korgaonkar on Sunday evening said that she was pained by the way people have stooped to such levels to tarnish the image and future of a woman by misusing social media.
Korgaonkar was speaking to reporters during a press conference at Chicalim Panchayat on Sunday evening after a large amount of derogatory posts began doing the rounds on social media with photographs of Panchayat minister Mauvin Godinho and Chicalim Dy Sarpanch.
" People have made up such stories that people are knowing me by only such false stories and not because of my work. This has truly pained me that people have fallen to such levels just to spoil my name . The people have spoilt the name of a person who is not involved without realising that I am a lady who is working very hard to come up in life. Is this the price I have to pay fot trying to come up by being a deputy Sarpanch? " said Korgaonkar.
" Today, all the ladies have come in suport of me because it is sad that just because of some political mileage and benefits from this , the people have spoiled the image and the future of the lady by making stories out of nothing. People are using the social media and tagging the Prime Minister with my photos attached and circulating further. I want to ask these people if they know me personally and whether they would have done the same thing with a lady from their family," said Korgaonkar.
" I have filed a complaint in the police station and the cyber cell and I want an investigation on this to find the cause. I want to know who started this and what was the motive so that I can question the person because I need justice," said Korgaonkar.
