City Mayor Rohit Monserrate faced embarrassment when he was denied entry into the Goa Legislative Assembly for failing to provide his identity card to the central security forces who took over the security at the premises owing to President Droupadi Murmu’s visit.
Despite arriving accompanied by his office staff and presenting the invitation, Monserrate did not carry his identification card. Left with no alternative to access the assembly, where President Murmu addressed the MLAs, the Mayor had to return empty handed.
