MARGAO
Residents of Margao rushed to the Margao police station crying foul over the death of a 47-year old resident of Aquem, suspecting it to be a murder.

The residents led by deceased Sachit Borkar’s brother in law, Suraj Virdikar descended on the Margao police station demanding a probe into the death as a murder, saying the injuries found on the body do not appear to have been caused by an accident.

Virdikar had rushed to the Hospicio hospital after being told that Sachit was injured and had been taken to the hospital. “When we reached the hospital, the very people who are suspected to have been behind the death, were all present at the hospital. Sachit was shifted to the Goa Medical College and hospital and his wallet and mobile was handed over to me”, he said.

The residents demanded a thorough probe into the death, demanding that the Margao police investigate the case as murder. “We are cent-percent certain that Sachit was done to death. He has sustained injures on his head and face. If it was an accident, there would have been injuries all over his body”, he said.

The residents further pointed out that anti-social activities are literally the order of the day outside the Aquem side  of the Margao railway station, demanding that the authorities put an end to the illegal activities.
