A 60-year-old two-wheeler rider from Tivim died in a self-accident at Guirim on Friday afternoon.
The accident occurred at around 2.30 pm when the rider, Anthony Sequeira, was travelling from Porvorim to Mapusa on his scooter. He lost his balance near the Ticlo petrol pump and fell on the highway.
Some foreigners who were driving on the same road stopped their vehicle and took the injured Sequeira to the Mapusa District Hospital. He was later transferred to GMC hospital where he succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment.
