After hearing the grievances of the traditional fishermen, including Ramponkars, South Goa Planning and Development Authority (SGPDA) Chairman, MLA Krishna Salkar has called for an emergency meeting of the SGPDA on Tuesday.
After the meeting, the PDA Chairman said he has decided to call for an emergency meeting of the PDA before the Planning body takes a decision on the request of traditional fishermen to allow them entry into the wholesale fish market after 10 am.
“After the PDA takes a decision at the emergency meeting on Tuesday, PDA officials will then seek an appointment with the Advocate General how to go about accommodating the traditional fishermen in the market after 10 am”, Salkar said.
The SGPDA chairman further said the traditional fishermen should also file an intervention application in the High Court to submit their stand on the PDA’s decision to shut the wholesale fish market by 10 am.
