Wear black and be prepared to be sent back from the Shyama Prasad Mukherjee stadium, as the BJP is determined to thwart any attempts to stage a protest during the swearing-in of Pramod Sawant as chief minister on Monday morning.
The BJP has appealed to the people not to wear black clothes, masks or even socks while attending the swearing-in ceremony scheduled at 11 am.
"People wearing black masks and black clothes will not be allowed inside the venue. However, the ceremony is open to all," said BJP State President Sadanand Shet Tanavade, while making it clear that wearing black would not be accepted at the venue since Prime Minister Narendra Modi, unions ministers and several BJP national leaders are expected to attend the ceremony.
This is not the first time where there has been a ban on black clothes at a PM’s function, as a ban on black masks and clothes had already been imposed in earlier functions attended by PM Modi.
Earlier this month, people entering the MIT college venue in Pune, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated several development projects, were asked to remove their masks, socks and in some cases even shirts, if they were black, ostensibly to prevent any kind of protest.
The BJP is determined to avoid any unwanted incidents to take centre stage during a high-profile event, which will be attended by Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah along with chief ministers of almost seven BJP ruled states who have been specially invited to the event.
