A 2-year-old boy was seriously injured when he came under the wheels of a rickshaw at Corlim on Tuesday morning.
According to Old Goa police, the boy, Satvik Gungi, was accompanying his mother who had gone to a general store for shopping near the government primary school, Mangado, at PDA colony.
“The kid gave the mother a slip and went onto the road, when he came under the wheels of a garbage collection truck (rickshaw) and sustained serious injuries,” the police informed while stating that he was immediately shifted to a private hospital in Corlim.
“Later, the boy was shifted to the GMC hospital in Bambolim where he is undergoing treatment in the ICU,” the police added.
The rickshaw driver Ashok Miragi along with the rickshaw were taken into custody by the Old Goa police and further investigations are underway.
