The organisers have stated that malnutrition is a common factor in cancer patients and about 10-20% of cancer deaths have been attributed to malnutrition, not tumours.
“Nutrition plays an important role in the treatment of various types of cancer. Nutritional issues must be taken into account in the diagnosis and treatment of cancer from the time it is diagnosed, and it should begin with antineoplastic treatment,” states the press note.
“Cancer-related malnutrition is still largely ignored in general treatment, it does not seem to be given much importance, it is not treated as well. With this in mind this Webinar has been organised,” the press note adds.
