MARGAO
The BJP-backed Vibrant Margao panel has urged the voters in Fatorda and Margao to give it a mandate to make Margao a model town.
Vibrant Margao chairman Damu Naik and Dy Chief Minister Manohar Ajgaonkar urged the voters not to fall prey to the false promises made by the Congress and Goa Forward Party.
The duo were speaking at the party district office after inducting into the party a candidate contesting from ward No 3, Reshma Sayyed. They also inducted Youth Congress workers, who had quit the party a day ago. Agnelo Furtado was welcomed into Vibrant Margao.
Speaking on the occasion, Ajgaonkar said only the BJP can bring about the much-needed development in Margao. Ajgaonkar criticised Goa Forward Chief Vijai Sardesai for propping up the BJP government in 2017 for his selfish interest. He challenged Sardesai to show a single project initiated in Fatorda during his stint in the BJP government.
Expressing happiness that the minorities, including Muslims and Christians are now joining the BJP, Damu said the Goa Forward Chief did not work for the ST or the minority communities during his stint as Minister in the BJP government.
