The BJP has criticised the Congress leaders for their remarks against the Rashtriya Sevak Sangh (RSS) over the freedom struggle and the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' initiative.

Speaking to reporters on Friday, spokesperson Prakash Kamat chided GPCC chief Amit Patkar and former GPCC chief Girish Chodankar for stating that the Rashtriya Sevak Sangh did not participate in the freedom struggle.

“The Sangh was formed in 1925 by Dr Hedgewar and he participated in the freedom struggle as well as motivated others to participate in the same. He was even arrested and remained in jail for a year,” Kamat informed and advised the Congress leaders not to make statements without checking facts.

Speaking on the 'Har Ghar Tiranga', spokesperson Yatish Naik said that it is an initiative to celebrate the 75 years of India's independence whereby one can show their love for the country.
