Paulo Travels owner falls prey to Covid

Mario Pereira (62), owner of the renowned private inter-state bus service 'Paulo Travels', died of Covid at Goa Medical College and Hospital late Monday night.

He was admitted in the GMC hospital around 15 days ago. He leaves behind his wife and son.

A resident of Mapusa, Mario was the son of Teotino Pereira, who was former MLA of St Andre constituency.

He was fourth among eight of the siblings. Family sources informed that the funeral will take place on Wednesday at 11 am in Mapusa in presence of close family members, on account of Covid restrictions.

PANAJIGoa recorded another peak in single day Covid death toll on Tuesday with 12 people succumbing to the disease taking the Covid deaths toll to 419.A total of 381 new cases of  Covid-19 were detected in the State taking the number of confirmed cases to 32,777.
