The Bharatiya Janata Party Mahila Morcha Taleigao has demanded the immediate resignation of PWD Minister Sudin Dhavalikar for his failure to repair roads in Taleigao.
Addressing a press conference, BJP Mahila Morcha Taleigao President Gloria Po said, “There are more potholes in Taleigao than roads. Due to this dilapidated roads, the people are forced to undergo through a lot of hardships.”
Referring to a statement of St Cruz MLA, Babush Monserrate that the Public Works Department (PWD) is doing an excellent work, Po alleged, “He is saying this only because the road in front of his house has been repaired and tarred. The other roads are still in dilapidated condition.”
She also reiterated that an important department like PWD should be handed over to a dynamic and pro-active person.
It may be recalled that Taleigao Mandal of the Bharatiya Janata Party had earlier demanded the resignation of the PWD minister over his failure to repair roads in Taleigao.
They had said that the PWD should be handed over to party legislators who had the knowledge in the field of engineering. The Mandal had also demanded that the payment to the contractor who was awarded the tender of Rs 8 crore for the repair of roads should be stopped immediately and an inquiry should be initiated into it.
