One person was killed and 13 were injured when a Tempo Traveller rammed into a roadside hill at Chorla Ghat on Friday noon.
The incident took place at about 12.30 pm when the Tempo Traveller was proceeding from Belagavi to Goa. The driver is believed to have lost control of the vehicle and it went off the road, ramming into a roadside hill.
Shivanand Sajjan (38) of Bannati-Bagalkot died in the mishap, while others injured included Satish Potdar (41), Shirish Potdar (3), Lakshmi Mortu (21), Shrishal Koti (43), Malesh Hosamanni, Vaibhav Sajjan (5), Vekkappa Nareli (49), Parvati Mortu (38), Suresh Basaiya Mortu (52), Sridhar Sutar (37), Shivanand Teli (36) and Mahadeand Srigatti (28).
The injured were shifted to the Sankhali Community Health Centre and were later referred to the Goa Medical College hospital in Bambolim.
Valpoi police is investigating the incident.
