Three persons have been accused of attacking a fellow villager over a property dispute at Poinguinim on Thursday evening. One person has been arrested in this connection.
According to police sources, three accused persons, Viraj Mahale, Suvarna Bhandari and Siddesh Mahale with their common intention are alleged to have trespassed into the property of Antonio Pereira and abused him.
While Viraj Mahale and Suvarna Bhandari are accused of having caught hold of Antonio, Sidhesh Mahale is alleged to have assaulted him with a Koita on his head.
Antonio sustained a head injury and is undergoing treatment at GMC hospital at Bambolim.
Canacona police registered the offence following a complaint by one Meliban Fernandes of Assolda-Quepem on Friday night.
Canacona police later arrseted Siddesh Mahale of Welwada-Poinguinim and a JMFC at Canacona remanded him to four days in policy custody.
Offences have also been registered against Viraj Mahale and Suvarna Bhandari of Poinguinim. Canacona police is investigating the case.
