1 nabbed in theft of antiques
MARGAO: The Cuncolim police have arrested one Anu Singh (24), a native of Uttar Pradesh, who is suspected to have been involved in the theft of antique items from a house at Bainfoll-Assolna.
According to Cuncolim police, some 30 antique items, which were reportedly stolen by the suspect have been recovered from him.
It may be recalled that the theft had occured on September 26, and the complainant Lida Joao registered an offence claiming that unknown accused person had effected entry into her house by breaking the lock of the main door and had committed theft of antiques items such as lamps, showpieces, Macau crockery, vases, old crockery, statues from the altar including ivory items.
Cuncolim police have registered an offence under Sections 457 and 380 of IPC.
Further investigations are in progress.
