12 beggars with kids arrested in Calangute

MAPUSA

The police nabbed 12 people along with their children who were begging in Calangute on Thursday. After getting an assurance to not indulge in begging again, the Mapusa Judicial Magistrate First Class released them.

They were picked up after they were found begging by the police police during their routine patrolling. 

As per the provisions of the Prevention of Beggars Act, 1960, the court released all these beggars with a warning.

Meanwhile, on December 16, the police had taken action against 11 beggars along with six children under a special operation.
