BICHOLIM
As many as 123 panchas from 17 panchayats in Bicholim taluka took the oath of panch membership at the Bicholim Block Development Office on Tuesday.
Block Development Officer Shrikant Pednekar, Extension Officer Prataprao Rane, Shirish Kumar Tari conducted the swearing-in ceremony and panchas were administered the oath in Marathi, Konkani, English and Hindi.
While congratulating all newly elected panch members, Pednekar appealed to the panchayats, which are the main centres of rural development, to contribute to the overall development by taking decisions beneficial to the interests of the village and the people while promoting the development.
