VASCO
Around 150 taxi operators from Vasco joined the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Thursday, in a boost to the party’s presence in different parts of the State.
According to sources, many taxi operators had been in touch with AAP leaders and had sought help from the party to resolve various issues.
“Around 150 taxi operators have joined the party today and there are many more who could join the party. The party is gaining a lot of support from all areas and Vasco is no different,” said the source.
When contacted, AAP spokesperson Sandesh Telekar confirmed the development.
“The 150 taxi operators have joined the party. We had a meeting with the taxi operators in Vasco where we heard all their grievances and issues. We briefed them about a possible solution to their issues.”
“We also assured that most of their issues would be resolved within a month if the AAP comes to power and forms the government in Goa. AAP office bearers Lincoln Vaz local leader Parshuram Sonurlekar and I were present at the induction function,” said Telekar.
