16 nominations so far for four wards in Bardez

A total of 16 nominations were filed so far for the four wards in Bardez, the election for which was postponed on the directions of the High Court.

Elections to Ward 1 in Bastora and Anjuna-Caisua and Wards 8 and 9 of Penha-de-Franca Panchayat were postponed after some individuals petitioned the High Court objecting to the reservation of the wards.

In Bastora, Ward 1 is now classified in the general category, while Ward 1 in Anjuna Panchayat is reserved for OBC women and in Penha-de-Franca, Ward 8 is general.
