16-yr-old raped in Mapusa

Mapusa police have registered a rape case against an unknown person for allegedly raping a minor girl with challenged abilities in Mapusa police jurisdiction.

According to police sources, the father of the girl took his 16-year-old daughter to a doctor after she started vomiting on February 24.  
The doctor examined the girl and after obtaining the sonography reports on March 2 found the girl was pregnant and was already two and half months due.  
The father immediately filed a complaint with the Mapusa Police on Thursday evening.  
Police sources said the father suspects a person who used to frequent a contractor residing in a rented room behind his house.  TGN

No payments until inquiry concludes, CS assures GHRC

Chief Secretary Dharmendra Sharma has assured the Goa Human Rights Commission (GHRC) that payment of bills raised by M/s Amonkar Classic Caterers for the supply of substandard food for the police personnel deployed on duty during the BRICS summit held in Goa last October will remain on hold till the conclusion of the ongoing probe into the allegations of substandard quality of the food.
